Senior Legal Counsel - Finance

An internationally recognised shipping company is looking for a senior lawyer to join them in their busy office in Switzerland.

To be considered, you must be a qualified lawyer (UK qualification is an advantage) and have a deep understanding of corporate and/or asset finance.

You will need to be someone who can demonstrate ability to drive change and must have a strong shipping acumen. It is essential that you can work well within a busy team and will need to have a strong English Language skills. Individuals who also speak French will be at an advantage.

This role will cover every aspect of asset financing and corporate financing including but not limited to: reviewing legal documents linked to corporate and asset financings such as loan agreement, mortgage, leases (operational, finance lease, tax leases, jolcos, etc), assignment of rights, other securities and any other types of contracts linked to financings of the Group.

Tax Manager, Germany

Do you have a profound knowledge of German Tax Law?

Do you have a strong knowledge of International Tax Law.

We are working with an international ship owner who need a Tax Manager to join their team in Germany.

Your role will be to analyse tax implications related to their international business, working with the senior management team in the support of business critical decisions.

Keeping up with changing tax trends and legislation, you will proactive manage the risks in relation to tax.

Working with the team in Germany and overseas, you will help take the department to the next level of efficiency.

To be considered you will have:

• HGB Accounting Experience with IFRS accounting knowledge.
• Experience and clear understanding of German tax law.
• Experience of working in an International company and understanding of international taxation.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Existing entitlement to live and work in Germany.

An understanding of taxation in maritime shipping will be highly advantageous.

Analyst, Germany

We are looking for an Analyst for our ship owning client in Germany.

You will be providing vital assistance to the company decision makers by providing analysis and reports in relation to Operations, Technical and Financial aspects.

With a love for numbers, you will be able to process large amounts of data and make sense of its meaning for critical business decisions.

As part of large analysis team, you will be given the opportunity to make the role your own, contributing on a wide variety of projects with various internal stakeholders.

A background in shipping is not essential, but will be highly advantages
You will have a degree related to business administration or financial analysis.

Experience in analysis large amounts of data for commercial purposes will feature in your background.

Candidate will be required to speak both English and German.

Marine Personnel Officer (Bulk), London

Join this leading shipping organisation as Marine Personnel Officer in London if you are looking to develop your career in a first-class company with long term career development potential.

Enjoy a varied role, managing a number of tasks, prioritising and ensuring that the manning requirements for the vessels are met at all times. Use your attention to detail to ensure that only suitably qualified seafarers are sent to the vessels at the most cost-effective ports, taking into account the commercial activity of the vessel.

With at least three years’ experience within the industry and a good understanding of STCW95, national and flag state documentation, you will also have a good understanding of certificate requirements for different types of vessels, but with a particular focus on dry bulk vessels.

Claims Handler

A reputable provider of P&I cover is looking for a claims handler to join them in their office in Barcelona, Spain.

The successful candidate must be legally trained and qualified and have a minimum of two years’ experience working in either a law firm or claims environment.

It is essential that you are completely fluent in both Spanish and English.

This role will primarily involve handling claims for ports/terminals, freight forwarders, logistics operators and road haulier rather than shipping/P&I claims. The claims can be wide-ranging, for example cargo loss/damage, TP property damage, terminal equipment damage, claims for costs, demurrage, etc., container damages, ship damage, personal injury, etc.

The role will involve undertaking various Loss Prevention initiatives and ensuring all relevant parties are notified accordingly. A key responsibility of this role will be the identification of key trends in claims and suggesting appropriate loss prevention methods.
