WHILE on the topic of taking care of your crew there will have been some red faces at AP Moller-Maersk who pleaded guilty to eight charges of failing to provide adequate hours of rest for the crew of the Maersk Patras and one charge of failing to improve the situation.
The company was fined £18,500 plus costs at Newcastle Magistrates Court. Not an impressive result for a company with generally such a sterling reputation.
Makes you wonder what will happen across the industry when the Maritime Labour Convention comes into force.
