ON YOUR BIKE

THE Mission to Seafarers' annual charity bike ride, the Flying Angel Ride, is upon us; either a 35 mile pootle (!) or a full 75 mile ride. It's a great chance to get fit and raise money for charity while having fun and achieving something to be proud of.

The top fundraisers on the day can win prizes, goody bags and energy drinks are provided, and you can undo all your training with a not-so-pious hog roast at the end.

It's a picturesque route through the New Forest in the (fingers crossed) April sunshine, and the MtS will provide a helpful training schedule and fundraising pack to get you going.

It costs just £25 to enter, and the MtS ask that you guarantee a £150 minimum in sponsorship so the charity can continue to support merchant seafarers emotionally, spiritually, and practically across the world.

If you're taking part and want help raising some cash, let us know and we'll shout about it in the next Changing Course. One or two of us might even pluck up the courage to join you! [email protected]

Flying Angel Ride, New Forest, 28 April 2013. Starts 10am, Brockenhurst.
