Guy Harris of Britannia P&I will be swimming the English Channel on 9 July in a challenge that is expected to take around 15 hours – all to raise money for Cancer Research and the City of London Sea Cadets.
In this huge feat of endurance, Guy will have a team of supporters close by on board a boat to cheer him on (and potentially drink rum), and take him back to our shores in the middle of the night after he has reached his goal.
Inspired by his swim coach who lost his battle with cancer in early 2019, Guy will swim 21 miles in a straight line, crossing one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world in 14c waters.
It’s an impressive challenge and a great way to raise funds for these charities.
