SEXY JOURNALIST RAISES THOUSANDS

JULIAN BRAY has managed to trump many a marathon runner and achieve iron man status (at least in the eyes of this fitness pretender) by completing the 7-day 780-kilometre Haute Route cycle race over 19 high mountain cols through the Alps from Geneva to Nice.  And he’s raised over USD18,000 to boot, to be shared between the OSCAR Campaign and Kent Air Ambulance, which rescued Julian after a near-fatal cycling accident in 2011.

Sexy old Julian went weak at the knees for another reason too – also riding the Haute Route was Olympic silver medallist Emma Pooley, who was preparing to win back her world championship title next month.  Check out Julian's 'lucky me' grin on page 54 of Tradewinds 31st August.

Julian is a member of the OSCAR Campaign Board.  Adding the funds he has raised brings OSCAR tantalisingly close to its half million pound target.  The aim is to be all the way there in time for a celebration event at Great Ormond Street Hospital at the end of October.

If you're a shipping person who's thought about donating to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children via the OSCAR Campaign, we encourage you to jump off that fence and contact Chair of the Campaign Phil Parry on [email protected] or Mohini Raichura at Great Ormond Street on [email protected].
