Oldendorff kick-start OSCAR's 2014

What a great way to start the new year: Oldendorff Singapore has raised SGD10,000 for the OSCAR campaign.

The campaign, founded by Spinnaker chairman Phil Parry, unites the shipping community to raise vital funds for research into childhood cancer and immune diseases at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Oldendorff's latest contribution takes the total to over GBP800,000 so far!

Oldendorff, who have previously supported OSCAR (the 2012 Movember donation is a memorable one with the splendid collection of Oldendorff taches!) came up with a great idea for fundraising; guessing how many marshmallows were squeezed into a jar.

Special thanks must go to our good friend Paul Druce at Oldendorff Singapore, who came up with the idea, organised the fundraising and notified us of the most excellent result. There was even a prize of SGD1000 for the right answer. Congratulations to Norman Lam (whose son Eric is pictured right collecting his prize).
