SHIPPING'S OSCAR campaign for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children received a further boost due to the generosity of the London Tanker Operations Party last month at which a rumoured 900 shipping bods gathered at the HQ of the Honourable Artillery Company to pretend that the tanker market was still in good shape.
There was shooting, model car racing, a casino, a disco and the organisers gave over space to Great Ormond Street Hospital for a fundraising stand, not to mention allowing a speech about the OSCAR campaign.
The Campaign Board has welcomed three new members to its ranks in recent months. A big thank you to Laura Bugden, of Braemer Shipping Services PLC, Nick Lockyer of JLT Speciality Ltd and Brian Perrott, partner at Holman Fenwick Willan LLP, for giving up their time.
Now, you might not have 20 big ones to donate to the Campaign, but you can nevertheless support OSCAR by following progress in the quarterly OSCAR newsletter. To subscribe, send an email to [email protected].
OSCAR has raised in excess of £320,000 so far and is well on its way to its initial target of £500,000 which is helping to fund a new Seas and Oceans themed floor at the world-renowned children's hospital.
