THE Baltic Exchange, Spinnaker and the OSCAR Campaign co-hosted an evening of wine tasting at the Baltic on February 6th. 50 guests from around the shipping world gathered together for an informal evening 'for which read 'swallow don't spit' of Champagne, Burgundy and Bordeaux (followed by a trip to the pub!) The event was hosted to say thank you to supporters, helpers and donors to the OSCAR Campaign, which has already raised over GBP600k for Great Ormond Street Hospital and the research carried out at the Institute for Child Health.
Wine and expert advice was provided by Philip Slocombe of the Rare & Fine Wine Company. A former Somerset and England cricketer, Philip specialises in Champagne, Burgundy and Bordeaux and trades with importers and private clients all over the world.
