SCOUTS MAKE GOOD

WE were intrigued to read in Recruiter magazine that a new survey of 2,500 scouts found that 41% of employers surveyed said that the fact the candidate had been a scout favourably influenced their decision to employ him/her. Scouts waxed lyrical about the benefits of the organisation for improving teamwork, and leadership skills, which particularly impressed employers. One of our contacts, who asked not to be named, admitted that having been kicked out of the scout group for insubordination might have had a permanently damaging effect on her future career in journalism. We are pleased to report that our chairman was however a sea scout and look where he is today!
