Equal Pay Day 2017

Equal Pay Day 2017

It’s Equal Pay Day here in the UK, which marks the day from which women effectively stop earning relative to men. Essentially, in comparison, women are working the rest of the year for free. The Office for National Statistics has published data which suggests the gender pay gap isn’t closing either, currently standing at 14.1%.

·         Maritime Gender Pay Gap

It may come as no surprise that the picture within maritime is even worse, with Maritime HR Association data showing a pay gap across the UK of around 40% last year. If you work in UK Maritime HR and want to find out the results of our 2017 gender pay gap analysis, please register for our free networking breakfast on Thursday, 30th November 2017:  https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/maritime-gender-pay-update-tickets-39041970585
