The Nautical Institute launched a practical guide to maritime security a few weeks ago, authored by Steven Jones, who is not only Director of the Security Association for the Maritime Industry but a former seafarer with direct experience of a pirate attack.
“Whether fighting pirates, stowaways or countering terrorism, true security begins when the Master and crew work within a system they respect, understand and appreciate,” says Jones.
