The Maritime HR Association is incredibly pleased to announce that this year’s maritime salary survey questionnaire was sent to participating members last week to kick start the salary survey season.
The annual survey is unique in that as far as we know, it is the only shore-based maritime salary survey that exists in the world. The survey is broad and includes roles in Chartering, Technical and Marine, Operations, Freight Traders, Crewing as well as corporate roles such as HR and Finance, just to name a few. In 2015 the Association was able to boast a huge growth of the salary survey with a 122% increase in data from the previous year.
In 2016 as our data grows further we hope to introduce salary benchmarking reports for more countries worldwide. We currently report an increasing array of countries including all the shipping hubs of the world: Singapore, UK, US, Hong Kong, and the UAE, as well as plenty more on top of a varied selection of regional reports such as North, South and West Europe, Developed and Emerging Asia Pacific as well as the Middle East.
New features of this year’s survey include the collection of gender and nationality data to delve even deeper into our analysis of the data which we publish in the Market Analysis Report later in the year. We have also added a new section in order to calculate the vessel to staff ratio of each company which we have seen to be incredibly useful to Maritime HR Association members in the past.
