Apparently, many children today will be the first generation to be worse off than their parents. Imagine a 6 car pile-up – pensions, housing inflation, sovereign debt, unemployment, student debt, mortgage scarcity…well, you can see the point.
It’s all a bit depressing really isn’t it. But, in a similar vein, yours truly unusually found himself agreeing with a politician last week. British Prime Minister David Cameron said, “Half the world is booming. Let’s go and sell to them.”
The same sentiment applies if you’re a youngster looking for a job. “Go and sell to them.” There are opportunities out there. There are employers who want to hire graduates. Last week, we spent time with the students on Henley Business School’s new MSc course in International Trade & Finance working with them on just this point. There’s no space here to write an essay on how to beat the competition.
