The Chairman of Headline Pictures has announced that they have just completed a new 2 hour version of Peter Pan, updated to the present world and set in the Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children. It's the first time they have allowed the Hospital to be used for a film. The premiere was in London a couple of weeks ago and went extremely well. They have called it "Peter and Wendy" – the name of the original book by JM Barrie – since there is some uncertainty about the ownership of the name "Peter Pan" in the USA.
The film is scheduled to be shown on ITV at 8.00pm on Boxing Day, as ITV's prime time family broadcast. It's a very moving story set around a young girl who is in the hospital for an operation for a new heart, and it stars Stanley Tucci, Laura Fraser and Paloma Faith.
