Spinnaker launches Singapore HR office

SPINNAKER GLOBAL’S HR Consulting division is proud to announce that they have opened a new office in Singapore, to aid with business development within the region.

As a consultancy specialising in maritime HR, the company is also home to the Maritime HR Association, a membership body that benchmarks salaries within the shipping industry, both for shore-based roles and, also launching this year, for seafaring roles too.

“We’ve always had a strong connection in Asia,” says Managing Director Karen Waltham. “Of our 102 Maritime HR Association members, 60 provide salary data for Singapore. We host events in the region (with over 60 delegates at our Singapore Networking Event in September) and always have a strong contingent of delegates from Asia at our Annual Conference in London. But to actually have a member of staff on the ground makes our connection even stronger.”

Spinnaker’s HR Consulting team has employed Yusoff Iskandar (pictured right) as Regional HR Manager to be based in Singapore, adding value to existing companies’ memberships, and highlighting the benefits of membership, salary benchmarking and leadership development to prospective members and clients.

“With many years’ experience in HR in Singapore, I feel confident that I can prove to shipping companies how important salary benchmarking and leadership development is,” says Yusoff. “I have extensive experience with government grants, educating companies in securing funding for their corporate professional development. It’s also an exciting time to be joining Spinnaker as they go from strength to strength in Singapore.”

This expertise will aid many shipping companies get value for their investment in HR training and development, and Yusoff’s presence in Singapore will give companies an extra contact in the already growing HR Consulting team at Spinnaker.
