Spinnaker Global was proud to receive the award for Diversity at the inaugural Maritime UK awards that took place in Southampton on 19 October. It was a real privilege to be part of the glitzy event, organised by the industry for the industry.
Represented by Karen Waltham (Managing Director, HR Consulting from Spinnaker Global) and Sarah Hutley (HR Consultant). Like all the finalists, they knew just to be invited was a massive achievement. Both are passionate about promoting the importance and value of HR generally in the industry and were delighted to receive the award in recognition of the work that the business has done to promote the importance of diversity and inclusion specifically.
Spinnaker, known for its shore-based recruitment, HR consultancy and salary benchmarking work was delighted to be recognised for the broad range of ‘people’ services that the business offers.
Karen Waltham said “It was a privilege to receive the award on behalf of Spinnaker Global. I’m immensely proud of the work that we have done to help educate and support the industry (both in the UK and globally) in attracting, developing and retaining a diverse talent pool.”
According to Karen’s acceptance speech “There is lots more work to be done to ensure long term sustainability and we need to remember the importance of ‘inclusion’ alongside diversity. Building a strong HR capability across the industry will be key to our continued success.”
Competition was strong in all categories and we would like to extend our congratulations to all of the finalists and to Maritime UK for hosting such a wonderful evening.
