What’s the deal?
As in previous years, teams of 11 (10 rowers and a drummer), pay an entry fee of £500 to help cover costs and pledge to raise £5000 through sponsorship or company donations or fund matching.

Why do it?

OSCAR funds research at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children that is saving lives. And besides, it’s fantastic networking with shipowners, P&I clubs, insurers, brokers, flags… and more, It’s also great team building and a seriously fun day that sends people home with a big smile on their faces and feeling good about themselves.

On the day?
Get a morning’s work in and then make your way to London Docklands for networking, partying, racing and team building. A barbecue, bar and music will keep the party going.

Location:

Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre, 235a Westferry Rd, Isle of Dogs, London E14 3QS

Set up a JustGiving page:

Once you’ve decided to enter a team, set up your JustGiving page to accept sponsorship. Here’s the Spinnaker page as an example. Feel free to copy any text from that page and if you’d like some photos of Oscar or of previous dragon boat races, please just ask.

How can you help?
Enter a team. Become a sponsor. Make a donation. Become a co-host or helper and help us to promote the event and tempt others to do some of the above. If you are interested in helping in any way, please email Phil at [email protected].

Watch a video of the 2016 event:

Last year, shipowners Scorpio and Union Maritime battled it out to become the biggest fundraisers, both raising a remarkable £21,000+ and Scorpio were just pipped to the post in the racing by North P&I. Watch it here.

Thanks so much.

Best wishes,
Phil Parry
