My Maritime World – promoting shipping to teens

Seavision is a national not for profit initiative to raise awareness of the maritime industry amongst the rising generation through educational and career related activities, and is running a competition called My Maritime World.

Open to all working across the diversity of the maritime/marine sector and based within the UK, all you need to do to enter the competition is to submit a short video clip describing your maritime work environment/workplace in sufficient detail to inform and enthuse to 11 to 18 year olds about their career aspirations.

Seavision ask for videos not to be ritzy but balanced, honest and jargon free. The best 2 submissions will win a Nexus tablet. Judging will take place during Seafarers Awareness Week (24 to 30 June 2013), reflecting the support of the nautical charity Seafarers UK in the important task of raising awareness of the maritime amongst young people.
