Independent Maritime Security Associates (IMSA) have revealed that their new mandatory security training course 'Proficiency in Designated Security Duties' (PDSD) can now be delivered in just one day.

This is mandatory training for all seafarers who have designated security duties onboard vessels to which the ISPS Code applies, which will take place every month in 2014 in the UK. There will also be scope for training overseas.

The MCA approved trainers all have maritime military backgrounds and the highest level of commercial maritime security, cruise ship and superyacht experience which means that seafarers receive real life operational experience to complement their theory based training, making the learning experience more realistic in their own working environment.
