As part of our 30 Under 30 initiative, we’re celebrating the next generation of leaders shaping the future of the maritime industry. Next up is Halima, Marketing Assistant at ITIC, and a standout emerging talent helping modernise how the maritime and aviation sectors communicate, connect, and engage in an increasingly digital world.

Halima plays a central role in shaping ITIC’s marketing and communications activity, managing the organisation’s LinkedIn presence, creating digital content, coordinating publication production, and supporting the delivery of global events. From producing video campaigns and visual content to overseeing key publications from concept through to final sign-off, she has quickly become an integral part of strengthening ITIC’s global brand presence.

Over the past 12 months, Halima has played a major role in one of the organisation’s most significant milestones: ITIC’s centenary year. She helped deliver a range of high-impact campaigns, including the ‘100 Words for 100 Years’ LinkedIn series, a dedicated 100-year website, and a suite of centenary celebration video content that became some of ITIC’s most engaging digital outputs. Her work has directly contributed to transforming ITIC’s digital presence, significantly increasing audience engagement while also generating measurable new business leads through LinkedIn.

Her impact is reflected not only in creative execution, but in measurable results. Across multiple campaigns, Halima has consistently delivered engagement rates far exceeding industry benchmarks, helping demonstrate the value of a more modern, digital-first approach within a traditionally relationship-driven sector. Alongside this, she regularly presents performance reporting and strategy recommendations to ITIC’s wider MarComms team, confidently communicating campaign performance and digital opportunities to senior stakeholders.

What sets Halima apart is her willingness to innovate and challenge traditional ways of working. Joining ITIC as the first person in a newly created Marketing Assistant role, she stepped into a fast-paced environment during a milestone year and quickly established herself as a trusted contributor. She also independently upskilled in video production, introducing new digital content formats that have since become some of the organisation’s strongest-performing outputs.

Working within an industry often shaped by longstanding communication traditions, Halima has helped bridge the gap between traditional relationship-building and modern digital engagement. Through creativity, initiative, and a clear understanding of evolving audience behaviour, she is helping bring a more contemporary approach to maritime marketing.

At an early stage in her career, Halima has already demonstrated the confidence, creativity, and commercial impact of an experienced marketing professional. She represents a new generation of talent helping the maritime industry evolve, not just through innovation at sea, but through innovation in how the industry tells its story.
