As part of our 30 Under 30 initiative, we’re celebrating the next generation of leaders shaping the future of the maritime industry. Next up is Stefanos, Efficiency Improvement Manager, and a standout emerging talent driving operational excellence through strategic thinking, cross-functional leadership, and data-driven decision making.
Stefanos operates at the intersection of finance, HR, and business operations, working closely with senior management to identify and implement initiatives that improve efficiency across the organisation. His role is highly cross-functional, spanning organisational design, cost control, process optimisation, system integration, and operational improvements, all focused on ensuring the business runs more effectively and remains aligned with long-term strategic goals.
Over the past 12 months, Stefanos has played a significant role in delivering measurable impact across the organisation. Working alongside the Group CFO, he has helped implement group-wide efficiency initiatives that have generated cost savings through operational improvements, structural adjustments, and process optimisation across multiple business units. His ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution has allowed him to drive meaningful improvements that directly support business performance.
Alongside his operational work, Stefanos has taken on a major leadership responsibility within HR. During a critical transition period, he stepped in as Group HR Coordinator, helping ensure stability and continuity across the global HR function. In this role, he worked closely with HR teams across multiple regions, bridging communication between HR professionals and the executive team while maintaining momentum on key initiatives related to employee engagement, performance management, reporting, and people analytics.
As the company’s HRIS specialist and system superuser, Stefanos has also led projects focused on improving HR systems, strengthening reporting capabilities, and ensuring greater transparency and data-driven decision making within HR operations. His ability to move seamlessly between operational efficiency projects and people-focused initiatives highlights a level of versatility rarely seen at this stage in a career.
What sets Stefanos apart is his ability to work independently while building strong collaboration across every level of the organisation. Much of his work requires managing complex projects without a dedicated team, coordinating stakeholders across departments, seniority levels, and global regions while balancing both immediate priorities and long-term strategic initiatives.
His ability to lead through influence, communicate effectively across functions, and consistently deliver measurable business improvements demonstrates a level of maturity and leadership well beyond his years. By combining commercial awareness, operational expertise, and people-focused leadership, Stefanos is helping shape a more efficient, connected, and future-ready maritime organisation.
As the industry continues to evolve, Stefanos represents the next generation of leaders capable of driving meaningful transformation, not through one discipline alone, but by connecting people, processes, and strategy to create lasting impact.
