You may remember our blog about the excellent charity Chauncy Maples, and that we're helping the refurbishment of the hospital ship in Malawi by helping them find a project manager.
The charity is looking to raise another million pounds for the ship renovation, which will provide essential health services for the villages surrounding Lake Malawi. The way they're looking to raise it is through The Big Row, where 100 rowing crews will collectively row 1,000,000 metres on rowing machines to raise that essential £1,000,000.
The event is on 11 September in Old Spitalfields Market, London, and the length of the 'journey' made on rowing machines is estimated to represent the circumference of Lake Malawi.
Crews must have 10-20 rowers, row 10,000m, and aim to raise £5,000 which will ideally be matched by their company to make a total of £10,000.
This is a chance to have some competitive fun and raise money for a truly inspiring project. To find out more, visit www.chauncymaples.org/bigrow and sign up today!
