WE’VE mentioned it already, but it is fair to say that the PYNDA conference outdid all before it during the afternoon ‘cake and a break’. Cakes, decorated with vessel drawings, were labelled up as cakesize, ULCC and VLCC (large cake carriers), panamarzipan and icing breakers. Brilliant!
Cake inspiration came from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers’ Julie Lithgow. Recruited by Spinnaker, Julie is now well established in her role heading up the ICS and, we understand, is proving quite a hit.
Another Spinnaker success story, Kathi Stanzel , Intertanko’s Managing Director, was also on the speakers panel. Kathi gave a thought-provoking talk on holistic thinking, pointing out the often unintended and unthought-of consequences of so many ‘good ideas’ and regulations.
