Oldendorff, Borealis, Lomar Shipping, Swire Bulk, Augustea, Union Maritime, Lloyds Register, The Liberian Registry, CJC, JLT, UK P&I (Thomas Miller), Nomikos, Arrow Shipbroking, John Swire & Sons, Skuld P&I and of course yours truly – Spinnaker Global – have already signed up to take part in the fifth OSCAR Dragon Boat race on September 14th in London.
Join them by emailing Lauren Thipthorpe at [email protected].
in 2017, Lomar Shipping won the race, stealing North P&I's crown, themselves a surprise winner when they knocked previous winners and favourites Scorpio off the winner's podium.
If you're new to the event, here are the answers to two FAQs:
1. No, you don't need any training or experience. Ten rowers and a drummer who've never stepped foot in a boat before can turn up, join in, and have fun.
2. Shipping is a significant funder of research (£1.65m and counting) that has already produced new treatments for childhood cancers and immune diseases via the OSCAR Campaign. Each year, this event raises £100k – 151k. The up-front cost is £500 plus a pledge to raise £5,000 in sponsorship.
Don't miss out. Last year the event was full. Twenty-five teams raised £151k and partied well on into the evening. With the Liberian Registry yet again generously sponsoring the bar, and a band and bungee run adding to the fun, a party atmosphere is guaranteed this year. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
Thanks so much for your support. More information here.
