An international marine insurance company is going through a period of growth and seeking a shipping lawyer in Hong Kong….
The role involves advising on disputes such as charterparties, bills of lading, demurrage, and other contractual claims for shipowners in Asia. Whilst the role has a dry shipping / FD&D focus, there will also be some P&I claims such as cargo and pollution. Their clients have a variety of vessels, including bulkers, tankers and containers so you can expect a good variety of work and often complex claims. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with shipowners and charterers and travel internationally (if of interest).
The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years experience advising on shipping disputes, either at a law firm, shipping company or P&I club.
