Maritime Data & Analytics Consultant – UK

Overview:
An opportunity to join a growing maritime technology business that is building a data and analytics capability on top of an established platform used by shipping companies. The role focuses on leveraging a large, unique operational dataset to help clients improve vessel performance, reduce costs, and optimise decision-making.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse maritime operational data (fleet, voyage, fuel, maintenance)
• Extract and manipulate data using SQL and/or Python
• Identify trends, inefficiencies, and performance drivers
• Translate data into clear, actionable insights
• Work closely with clients to understand challenges and shape solutions

 
Profile:

• Background in data analytics (SQL essential, Python or BI tools preferred)
• Exposure to maritime/shipping (fleet operations, performance, voyage data)
• Strong problem-solving mindset; comfortable working with complex datasets
• Able to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders

 
Notes:

• Hybrid role combining data, domain knowledge, and client interaction
• Early hire within a growing capability area
• Not a pure reporting or research data science role
