Overview
We are currently supporting a global shipping organisation in the search for a Technical & Procurement Executive to join their team.
This is a hands-on, operational role supporting both technical and purchasing functions across a fleet of vessels. You will play a key role in ensuring vessels remain compliant, operationally ready, and fully supported from a technical and supply chain perspective.
Working closely with Superintendents and internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for coordinating class and flag requirements, supporting dry dock planning, and managing the end-to-end purchasing process for vessel requirements.

Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of class and flag requirements to ensure vessel compliance and seaworthiness
- Liaise with class/flag administrations for surveys, inspections, and statutory requirements
- Assist with vessel modifications and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Coordinate and support flag changes, vessel takeovers, and ownership transfers
- Support Superintendents with dry dock planning, including specifications, quotations, and cost tracking
- Administer and maintain ISO procedures and technical documentation
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring proper approvals and process compliance
- Source and procure spares, stores, and provisions in a cost-effective and timely manner
- Coordinate delivery logistics with vessels and internal departments
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve discrepancies, and manage supplier relationships
- Maintain accurate purchasing and technical records, ensuring audit readiness
- Track inventory, reports, and technical data across internal systems
- Support cost control through price comparison, negotiation, and contract review
Requirements
- Minimum 1+ year experience in a technical, purchasing, or procurement role within shipping
- Understanding of vessel operations, class and flag requirements, or technical marine processes
- Exposure to purchasing, logistics, or supply chain within a maritime environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously
- Good commercial awareness with a flair for numbers and cost control
- Effective communication skills and ability to liaise with vessels and stakeholders globally
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Diploma or equivalent qualification preferred
