Freight Assessor – London (Bulk)

A leading global maritime data and services provider, with a strong presence in international shipping markets are seeking a Freight Assessor to join their Benchmarking team in London.
 
The role will focus on ensuring accuracy and integrity across their market benchmarks, working directly with shipbrokers, owners, and charterers to collect, verify, and assess market data that shapes global shipping rates. It will offer the opportunity to play a pivotal role in global maritime markets and work with industry-leading professionals.
 
The Role

• Evaluate daily market data submissions and verify pricing information
• Build relationships with industry contributors and conduct regular performance audits
• Monitor shipping market trends, trade flows, and vessel developments
• Identify unusual market activity and maintain detailed records
• Respond to market enquiries and provide expert insights
• Represent the organization at industry events and forums
• Collaborate across teams to support multiple freight sectors

What we are looking for..
 
Essential:

• Strong knowledge of the maritime industry, particularly Bulker markets
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to analyze data critically and work to tight deadlines
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities
• Proficiency in Excel and data reporting tools
• Independent judgment and professional integrity

Desirable:

• Experience as a shipbroker, owner, or operator in the bulker sector
• Knowledge of freight forward agreements (FFAs) and options trading
• Familiarity with voyage calculations and time charter equivalents
• Understanding of derivatives markets and shipping benchmarks
