Inhouse Legal Counsel

Part of a legal team based in London office 

Key responsibilities

• Provide in-house guidance on legal, contractual and operational issues arising pre- and post-fixture.
• Advise on charterparty interpretation, contractual risk, claims strategy and dispute resolution.
• Support sanctions screening, sanctions interpretation and wider compliance matters.
• Assess claim exposure and provide pragmatic recommendations on optimal handling strategy.
• Handle assigned claims in collaboration with internal teams, external counterparties, P&I clubs and defence lawyers.
• Review contracts, supply agreements and purchasing agreements to ensure alignment with internal policies.
• Support and mentor junior colleagues
