We’re recruiting on behalf of a major international oil trading company for a Junior Quality & Quantity Claims Analyst to join their Cargo Control team in Central London.
 
This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone with 1-2 years’ experience in trading, shipping, or inspection who’s looking to build a career in the oil industry — combining field knowledge with commercial claims handling.
 
What you’ll be doing:

• Managing, pursuing and defending cargo claims relating to quantity loss and quality issues
• Liaising with traders, shipping operations, contracts and loss control teams
• Gathering voyage facts, inspection data and claims documentation
• Negotiating directly with counterparties and terminals
• Getting hands-on exposure to global crude & product trading operations

What we’re looking for:

• Degree educated
• Highly numerate, with strong communication skills (written & verbal)
• 1-2 years’ experience in trading, shipping, or inspection
• Team player, proactive and self-motivated
• Mandarin speaking is a plus (not essential)
• Eligible to work in the UK
