We’re supporting a rapidly growing maritime group in the appointment of a Head of Projects, IT & Software to lead the next phase of its technology journey.
 
Operating across commercial shipping and marine services, the business has grown significantly over the past five years and is now investing in building an internal technology function to support continued expansion and digital transformation.
 
This is a newly created role with significant scope to shape the organisation’s technology strategy, working closely with senior leadership to modernise systems, improve integration and deliver innovative digital solutions across the business.
 
The Role:
You’ll take ownership of the company’s technology landscape, acting as the bridge between operational stakeholders and third-party software partners while driving key IT and software projects from concept through to delivery.
 
Alongside managing existing business systems, you’ll play a key role in developing the company’s internal technology capability and ensuring technology continues to support long-term commercial growth.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the company’s IT and software function.
• Manage ongoing technology and digital transformation projects.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Manage relationships with software vendors and development partners.
• Oversee business systems, infrastructure and cyber security.
• Drive systems, software and data integration across the organisation.
• Develop reporting and business intelligence capabilities.
• Support the growth of an internal technology team.

About You:
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent commercial awareness.
 
You’ll have experience leading technology initiatives within shipping, logistics or another asset-intensive industry and be comfortable working across projects, business systems and software delivery.
 
Experience in the following areas would be highly beneficial:

• Digital transformation
• IT and software project delivery
• Business analysis and stakeholder management
• Systems and data integration
• Vendor management
• Cloud technologies and modern software environments
• Cyber security and IT governance
• Shipping or maritime experience is highly desirable.
