P&I and FD&D Claims Associate – London

We’re partnered with a leading International Group P&I Club in London that is looking to appoint a Shipping Claims Lawyer to join its growing claims team.  
This is a newly created position within a highly stable and collaborative team, offering exposure to a broad mix of international P&I and FD&D work.
  
The work is split roughly 60% P&I and 40% FD&D, covering a wide range of complex shipping disputes, including cargo claims, collisions, pollution, bills of lading, charterparty disputes, off-hire claims and bunker quality issues. You’ll be advising shipowners in various locations globally, working on matters across multiple jurisdictions.
  
The team is led by an experienced and approachable Claims Director who has both seagoing and legal experience so you’ll have lots of support and knowledge to hand. The claims team is known for being supportive, collaborative, and has low turnover, which is a testament to their working culture.

There is a genuine focus on professional development through technical training, external courses, and opportunities to visit vessels and travel internationally to meet shipowners.

This role would suit a qualified lawyer with 3-6 PQE who has dry shipping experience (FD&D) gained at either a law firm or P&I club in either UK or Commonwealth jurisdictions. Sponsorship to work in the UK available (if required).
