Bunker Trader – Singapore
A marine fuel trading company with global presence are looking for a commercially driven Bunker Trader to join their growing Asia-Pacific trading team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced trader to take ownership of a client portfolio, work across a dynamic regional market, and grow within a collaborative, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day trading of bunker fuels, including fuel oil and marine gas oil, across the Asia-Pacific region
- Conduct daily back-to-back bunker trading and sourcing operations
- Handle the end-to-end trade cycle: trading, fixture/post-fixture operations, delivery coordination, and payment collection
- Locate, develop, and manage a personal client portfolio, including shipowners, operators, and charterers
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers and buyers on individual stems
- Manage and grow existing accounts whilst cultivating new business relationships
- Collaborate closely with the Operations team to ensure timely and efficient product delivery and service
- Monitor market trends, pricing benchmarks and supply chain developments
- Support monthly KPIs
- Ensure compliance
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in bunker trading or a closely related marine fuels/commodity trading role
- Currently based in Singapore, with existing eligibility to work locally
- Strong understanding of fuel specifications, trading strategies, and bunker market dynamics
- Proven track record of managing client relationships and negotiating trade terms
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving market
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Mandarin or Korean is highly advantageous, given the regional client base
