Our client, a shipping law firm in London, is seeking a qualified Solicitor to join the disputes team.
This is a new role due to growth as the firm is very busy with litigation and arbitration cases created by their excellent long standing reputation in the shipping market.
You can expect high quality work and lots of repeat business from shipowners and P&I clubs. The majority of the work is dry shipping such as charterparty, offhire and demurrage disputes plus some admiralty work, including collisions, vessel breakdowns and incidents at sea. They are open to considering solicitors for the dry or admiralty practice (or indeed a mix of the two).
You will have autonomy to run your cases, so you’ll need to be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales with shipping disputes experience gained either at a law firm, marine broker, ship owner or P&I club. The the firm is open to all levels of experience; from Associate through to Partner.
In return the firm provides competitive salary, bonus (starting from 1300 hours), private healthcare, income protection and life insurance. They have a collaborative working environment and are a friendly and supportive team.
