Marine Business Development & Commercial Executive – South of France
An exciting opportunity with a leading international energy group with a presence in over 100 countries, sitting amongst their marine and shipping activities. The role will support on the group’s global operations, indentifying and pursuing new business opportunities across the home market and surrounding territories. Working with a broad network of vessel owners and customers, you will coordinate the fulll tender process from start to finish, whilst overseeing contracts once they have been awarded.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Research and approach prospective customers in the region, travelling frequently to build the pipeline.
- Provide the Line Manager with daily updates on leads, customer needs and competitor activity.
- Build strong relationships with customers, vessel owners and partners, and lead vendor registration with new customers.
Tender Management
- Receive tender invitations from customers and quotations from vessel owners.
- Prepare tenders in liaison with Marine, HSEQ, Tax, Logistics and Finance to ensure they meet customer requirements.
- Obtain Management sign-off, submit on time to a professional standard, and follow up.
- Track live requirements and submitted tenders.
Contract Management
- Negotiate agreements with vessel owners and charterers.
- Brief the relevant teams on signed contracts.
- Check invoices to charterers and from vessel owners, and support Finance with customer payments.
- Keep contract and vessel data current in our client’s Management System.
Analysis & Reporting
- Produce business analysis and presentation material.
About You
- Diploma in marketing, commercial studies and/or international business.
- Minimum of 5-years in a sales, marketing or a commercial role, ideally within the oil or shipping industry.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English and French (French more desirable, but strongly preferred).
