Commercial Development Executive – Maritime Decarbonisation

We are working with a leading international maritime organisation seeking a Business Development & Ventures Executive to join its growing New Energy & Decarbonisation division in London.
 
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded individual with an interest in sustainability, emerging technologies and the future of shipping.
 
The role offers a unique blend of business development, commercial analysis and project support, with the opportunity to play a key part in identifying and developing innovative solutions to reduce emissions across the maritime industry.
 
Initially, the position will focus on supporting commercial opportunities, evaluating potential partnerships and coordinating projects, with the opportunity to develop into a more externally focused business development role as the UK operation grows.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify new business opportunities within maritime decarbonisation and energy transition.
• Support the evaluation of emerging technologies, alternative fuels and potential commercial partnerships.
• Assist with technical feasibility studies, economic evaluations and commercial business cases.
• Prepare tender submissions, proposals, bid documentation and commercial presentations.
• Support engagement with external partners, technology providers and prospective clients.
• Conduct market research into industry developments, competitor activity, regulations and emerging opportunities.
• Assist with the commercialisation and implementation of new energy and decarbonisation solutions.
• Coordinate stakeholder meetings, maintain project documentation and ensure timely follow-up on actions.
• Work closely with colleagues across international offices to support business development and strategic initiatives.

About You
 
We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical and organisational skills with commercial awareness and the confidence to engage with external stakeholders.
 
Ideally, you will have:

• Experience within maritime, shipping, energy, offshore or engineering industries.
• Exposure to business development, commercial operations, project development or a related function.
• An understanding of, or genuine interest in, maritime decarbonisation, alternative fuels and the wider energy transition.
• Experience supporting commercial proposals, business cases, tenders or project evaluations.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A proactive, adaptable approach and willingness to take ownership of responsibilities.
• A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional maritime qualification, such as a Certificate of Competency.
• Previous experience directly within decarbonisation is advantageous but not essential, particularly for candidates with relevant maritime or energy sector experience.
