This programme covers the theories, principles, and models relevant to the modern maritime industry including maritime operations, MetOcean processes and impacts, and maritime regulation and governance. This will equip you with a broad understanding of the challenges and current affairs involved. You will develop skills in gathering, analysing, evaluating, and interpreting data in Sustainable Maritime Operations.
This Maritime Operations degree would suit those with some professional experience in the maritime world, those currently working at sea or for those who have an academic interest in marine and maritime business and management.
The BSc is delivered online via distance learning and can be flexibly studied around your life commitments.
A commitment to 12 hours of study per week is recommended and the degree will take 12 months to complete. Three intakes are available each year – January, May and September.
The programme is designed by leading industry experts and is fully tutor-supported, with help, guidance, and advice available when needed.
The programme can also be extended to a BSc (Hons) degree and master’s degree.
This master’s degree will require you to undertake a stand-alone 12-month research project that is aligned with your chosen field of work within the maritime sphere.
You will be encouraged to discover your own research subject for investigation. However, your assigned tutor, who is there to support you through your studies, can assist you in developing an interesting subject to take forward.
This master’s degree would suit 1st Engineers, Chief Engineers or Superintendents in the marine sector.
This flexible, distance learning programme poses a good opportunity to continue studying even whilst at sea.
