Wow, what a week and what a year…! Not only has Spinnaker rebranded to Spinnaker Global, boosting the profile of our HR Consulting division and its new structure (more on that below) but we’ve also released our eighth annual salary survey.
We’re pleased to report an ever increasing number of members for the Maritime HR Association, and an increasing number of jobs and locations to report. First published in 2007, the salary survey is a comprehensive overview of global compensation in the shore-based shipping industry (previously the Maritime HR Forum Salary Survey).
This year, data has been collected for over 10,000 maritime industry professionals and we are delighted to be able to report many new jobs and also certain jobs in new locations including Japan, Belgium and Switzerland. The salary survey results are annually distributed to a ‘Primary Contact’ in each member company and recipients are offered assistance interpreting or using the data, along with a range of additional support services. As always with our services, bespoke data cuts are also available.
Our annual Market Analysis Report which will be distributed in early December to all HR Association contacts, is our analysis of the salary survey data including commentary on current and future market trends, pay projections, regional and year-on-year comparisons, and important when applying judgment to the salary survey data in determining its role in steering pay policies and strategies. Drawing on multiple inputs and considerations to make informed and good decisions on pay levels is crucial.
