AT a time when everyone should be looking forward to enjoying the Christmas festivities, we were saddened to hear of the sudden death last week of Alan Phillips, our friend and director of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
We saw Alan just four days earlier when he was in high spirits and seemed a picture of health. As part of our ongoing cooperation with ICS, Alan had recently been contributing his thoughts to Changing Course, and we in turn made regular contributions to the ICS newsletter. Our thoughts are with his wife and family at this time.
ICS has flourished in recent years with Alan running the organization; testament to this was the ICS Annual Awards Ceremony only last month, which was a perfect display of the value and relevance of the ICS examinations which are sat by thousands of candidates from around the world every year.
God's speed Alan. We'll miss you.
