Head of Insurance

An international shipping company is looking for a new Head of Insurance to join them in Europe.

Key responsibilities include managing the insurance department, placing, maintaining and restructuring the company’s insurance portfolio (eg P&I, H&M, War Risk etc), as well as becoming the main point of contact both internally and externally for insurance related matters. Legal, Claims and Insurance Manager, Europe

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal, Claims and Insurance Manager to join an international and privately owned agri-business. This position is to be based in Switzerland.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the company is properly insured in relation to its business risks and liabilities relating to cargo, warehouse and chartering. The role will include the tendering, negotiating and contracting with brokers and insurers. You will also manage the companys claims system and processes and will be responsible for overseeing and supporting all insured cargo and charterers liability claims.

This role will suit a lawyer with 5-7 years’ experience, or an experienced senior insurance professional with a good technical and practical working knowledge of English trading and shipping law.

Head of Legal and Insurance

An exciting but challenging opportunity has arisen for a Legal and Insurance Manager to join an international shipping company in their London office.

In this role, you will be leading a team of 5 and will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of vessel-related claims including (but not limited to) P&I, FD&D, H&M, personal injury, pollution and war risk. As well as claims management, this role will also oversee the insurance portfolio management and will act at the Company’s subject matter expert for all insurance matters.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years’ relevant experience within maritime law, with a strong record in shipping litigation and P&I. You must have an in-depth understanding of insurance markets and all marine insurance, whilst some experience in non-marine insurance will also be beneficial.

You will have previous management/leadership experience and will be highly effective at building and sustaining relationships, even in challenging situations.

Offshore Underwriter - London

A leading international provider of marine insurance is looking to add an Offshore Underwriter to their London-based team.

This role will involve the underwriting and renewal of accounts within the Offshore divisions and will be responsible for enabling the prompt and accurate production and processing of entry documentation.

To be considered for this role, you must have achieved at least a 2:1 at degree level and hold an additional professional qualification such as CII or IG P&I. Previous experience as an Underwriter of Deputy underwriter within Marine or Energy is essential, whilst offshore experience is preferred.

Due to the Contract Review element of this position, it is essential that you have good knowledge of contract review procedures.
