2025 is the 20th anniversary of Spinnaker’s Maritime HR Association – a network of shipping companies set up as a forum for the sharing of ideas and experience when it comes to HR policies, and robust and reliable compensation & benefits shipping benchmarking data.
What started as a small salary survey for 8 tanker companies, has grown into the most reputable salary survey for shore-based maritime jobs globally.
110 companies are members of Spinnaker’s ‘Maritime HR Association’ a members ‘club’ for shipowners, shipmanagers, oil majors and commodity groups. Members of the Maritime HR Association receive the 2025 salary reports which includes aggregated data for 35,000 maritime industry professionals across 92 countries working in jobs such as Technical Superintendent, Operators and Charterers.
All of the major shipping hubs including Singapore, the UAE and the UK are covered in the reports, and in 2025 reports are also available for growing maritime locations such as Malaysia.
At a time when we are seeing so much change, trusted and robust salary benchmarking data is of increasing importance.
Good salary data is a prerequisite for good decisions so, members of the Maritime HR Association are already one step ahead.
In addition to the salary reports, Maritime HR Association members also benefit from the findings of Information Exchanges. This year, members have been called upon to provide information about Employee Engagement and Pay Reviews and Bonus Projections.
