APRIL Fools' Day proved to be a bad one for five Somalis found guilty of a pirate attack on a US ship. They thought they were going for a merchant ship but managed to engage the US frigate USS Nicholas instead. Bad move. As the debate continues on which jurisdictions will try the Somali pirates, and how it will be accomplished, a US judge found the men guilty of piracy. Their defence was that they were simply fishermen (some catch).
