That’s where Safer Waves comes in. We’re a charity dedicated to creating a safer and more respectful maritime industry – one where every seafarer can work without fear of harassment or abuse. Through our confidential email support service, we provide a safe, anonymous space for seafarers who have experienced sexual violence, harassment or gender discrimination, no matter where they are in the world.

Beyond direct support, we’re the expert voice in the industry building lasting change. Our training and education programmes equip companies, cadet colleges and maritime leaders with the knowledge and practical tools to address safeguarding, promote inclusion, and foster cultures of respect at sea. Through our public speaking and awareness initiatives, we challenge outdated attitudes, encourage open conversations and inspire the next generation of maritime professionals to lead with empathy and accountability.
