OSCAR HITS GBP 270,000

Generous contributors include Ince&Co who have chosen the OSCAR campaign and the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity as their Charity of the Year. As well as making a generous corporate donation, they are planning lots of exciting employee fundraising activities over the next 12 months.

In July the Shipping Division at the Royal Bank of Scotland took to the streets to support the OSCAR campaign by taking part in the Standard Chartered Great City Race. Ten members of the team completed the 3k race through the City of London, raising £5000 in the process. The top team came an impressive 125th out of more than 700 teams taking part, which was no mean feat.

On 18th September, Laurence McFadyen of Sach Solicitors undertook a mammoth challenge to raise money for the OSCAR Campaign.  Not content to tackle a simple triathlon, Laurence took part in the Henley Iron Man, consisting of a 3.8km swim, a 180km bike ride and a 42Km run to finish.  A huge thank you to Laurence for his incredible support.  It is still possible to reward Laurence’s efforts through his online fundraising page: http://www.justgiving.com/Laurence-McFadyen.

Keep in touch with the OSCAR Campaign at www.gosh.org/oscar and if you’d like to receive future copies of the OSCAR newsletter, email [email protected].   And if you can donate to OSCAR or you think you know a man, or woman, or company, who can, then please get in touch with Louise Taylor or Phil Parry, [email protected].
