Operations Manager- Container Vessels, London

Our client is an internationally recognised shipowner with a diverse fleet of bulkers, tankers and containerships. They are currently looking to add an experienced Operations Manager to their team that specialises is in operating container vessels

This would be a great opportunity for someone that comes from a seafaring background and has sailed to Chief Officer/ Master on container vessels before moving into shorebased commercial operations handling the full ops of containers.

Head of Operations- Dubai

We have just been appointed on an exciting project within the Dubai market. We are partnered with an Agri Trader with a growing shipping business to assist them in the search for a Head of Operations to form part of their senior leadership team.

This is a great opportunity to join a closely knit group with ambition to grow the shipping business. The core focus of this role would be to provide operational support throughout the shipping business and provide leadership to the existing team, However we feel this is a position that will have a broad scope and will need to be a senior figure that understands commercial risks and how to protect the company position.

Someone that has a deep understanding of a wide range of vessel operations matters in the bulk market, is comfortable with legal matters, dealing with P&I Clubs etc as well as someone that is able to keep the chartering department aware when it comes to charter party clauses that could cause them some problems down the line.

This role will be reporting into and working closely with the GM of the business. We feel it would be well suited to someone that has strong commercial operations leadership experience gained within a moderately sized Owner/ Operator or potentially within a trading setup.

HR and Administration Manager, Denmark

Spinnaker have partnered with a Singaporean Headquartered shipping company, expanding their business into Denmark with an office in Copenhagen.

They are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR and Administration Manager to join their global HR team and harmonise operational procedures in Singapore with local Danish policies.

You will be the go to person in Denmark to guide and advise all office staff on HR matters and be responsible for the management of the office.

As the HR and Administration Manager you will be the first port of call for all matters relating to employment law in Denmark, pension regulations, personal taxation, recruitment, staff development, performance reviews, compensation & benefits and salary benchmarking.

Ensuring the office runs smoothly and effectively will be your responsibility covering facilities management, arranging for various insurance such as medical and contents insurance. Health and Safety regulations, lease agreements, hotel booking and travel arrangement will all fall under your varied and busy role.

Reporting directly to the office in Singapore, you will also work closely with counterparts in other global locations. Ultimately you will be responsible for the office in Denmark.

This role requires an individual with a minimum of five years’ experience within a Human Resources function and you will also have a formal qualification or degree in HR practice.

Knowledge in Danish Employment law, and a track record of keeping up to date with the latest legislation is a must have.

You will need to draw upon your experience of managing an office to succeed in this role along with having oversight of payroll, being proficient in Microsoft Excel and HRIS.

Fluency in English and Danish is required.

Experience in maritime is not essential, yet will be highly desirable.

Director of New Building, Hong Kong

We have partnered with a leading ship management company based in Hong Kong to find a Director of New Building.

You will be responsible for leading the entire New Building Division. This would include working with existing building contracts and projects already in place as well as looking at the overall strategy of bringing in new business from ownership companies. This would require you to pull on your existing network to grow and drive the business forward, with a particular focus on Chinese or South Korean markets.

You will be responsible for overseeing Site Teams, Plan Approval Managers, Naval Architects and Designers along with being accountable for maintaining relationships with new building clients for the conversion of business.

This role will suit an individual who is highly driven and already has an established network in the New Building industry, not only will they need to know their way around a ship, they will also need to be commercially astute for dealing with ship owners as customers directly.

Fleet Management Coordinator, Singapore

We are currently working with one of the world’s leading commodity groups who are looking to bring in a Fleet Management Coordinator into their marine team in Singapore.

As a Fleet Management Coordinator, you will provide oversight and implement best practice standards and improvements across the fleet.

Some of the key aspects of this role will be ensuring that the operational activities of Owned vessels and ensure vessels are operating within RTM Safety and Operational guidelines are monitored daily. Added to this, you will liaise closely with the Ship Managers on the reporting of investigations and adequate resolution of incidents, issues and disputes as well as ensuring all internal stakeholders are appropriately informed.

Commercial Analyst- Singapore

Spinnaker Global is on the search for a Commercial Analyst to join one of the world’s largest owners and operators of LPG vessels. This role is to be based in their Singapore office and would be a good fit for someone with strong quantitative skills

Aside from the technical competencies required to perform in this role our client is looking for someone that has a creative and entrepreneurial streak that has the confidence to challenge the status quo and present their ideas.

You will collect industry and company data though a variety of channels, review and organise the data and prepare research to support commercial meetings with clients. You will conduct regular market research and update management and the commercial team.

You will need to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be well organised and good time management skills. Good working knowledge of data processing frameworks and tools such as Spark, Hadoop and MapReduce would be preferred.
