We are currently working with a shipping company that operates in the tanker market that would like to bring in a HSEQ Officer to their team in London.
This hire will be responsible for responding to near misses, safety committee meetings, injury investigations, supporting the HSEQ team with security-related and ballast water plans, etc.
It will be essential that you have sailed to the second mate on any type of tanker vessel and ideally, you will have at least six months to one year ashore.
There will be the scope for moving up within the team over time, so if long-term progression is what you’re looking for this could be the role and company for you.

We are currently working with a major international shipping and logistics group who are in the process of hiring a Pricing Analyst for their Project Cargo department in London.
The main function of the job is to assess enquiries from the market received via the Line’s Agency Network, devise a solution for the carriage of the cargo, calculate a rate for the Cargo and return the rate to the Agency office to sell same to the client.
The other functions are to keep track of changes in the market, competition and the Line’s performance in the sector through reports from the Agency Network, trade statistics and internal performance statistics.
Ideally you will have commercial experience in breakbulk- OOG cargoes with some technical understanding although candidates with relevant commercial experience gained in other markets will still be considered if open to transitioning over. Excellent numerical capabilities would also be highly advantageous as well as exposure to using shipping systems and software.

We are currently working with a world leading drybulk owner/operator who is looking for a Marine Accounting Executive to join their office based in Singapore.
In this role you will be responsible for calculating hire statements for the time charter in/out vessels, checking and paying brokerage commissions and preparing final hire statements and balancing accounts with owners and charterers, and other ad hoc tasks.
The perfect candidate will have a relevant degree in maritime studies or have up to 2 years’ experience working in a similar role. Local candidates will have a distinct advantage.

We are currently working with a market leading company in the bulk market who are looking to bolster their Analytics team by hiring an experienced Grains Analyst. This will be a fully integrated role within their freight/ commodity research department and will have crossover with freight trading activities.
In this role you will be responsible for short and long term supply and demand analysis of major grain products i.e. soybean, corn and wheat. This role will work very closely with the commercial desk and freight trading teams in order to make informed decisions about how the company should position itself in relation to the research.

The UK Chamber of Shipping is the trade association and voice of the UK shipping industry. They work with Government, parliament, international organisations, and others to champion and protect the industry on behalf of their members.
This position, with in the policy department will be responsible for advancing the decarbonisation agenda, engaging with national and international government stakeholders.
Reporting to the Policy Director (Safety and Environment), your role will support the Safety & Environment Committee and the Carbon Working Group on technical decarbonisation matters.
You will also support policy leads within the Safety & Environment team and the British Tugowners Association and British Rig Owners’ Association when required.
Using your skills to analyse and interpret policy, technical consultations, and scientific papers you will support the development and delivery of industry guidance and training material related to the environment, net zero carbon shipping and the introduction of renewable fuels.
Providing support to the policy team, including responding to technical policy enquiries and consultations (both internal & external) you will be able to deliver accurate technical analysis and demonstrate attention to detail while working under significant time pressure.
With your ability to communicate complex technical ideas and information to a range of audiences and stakeholders you will facilitate workshops, events, and small working groups as well as present and support advocacy on advancing the Chamber’s decarbonisation policy at external events and meetings.
As such, occasional travel to meetings within the UK and internationally may be required.
To be considered for this position you will have:
• A Degree or equivalent qualification or professional experience in naval architecture or marine engineering.
• Knowledge of international and national shipping policy and issues relating to the whole life carbon assessment of ships.
• Knowledge of technical aspects of ship energy efficiency policy & its practice.
• Knowledge of fossil, and renewable fuels properties, and their practical application on ships.
• The desire to work in a research based, academic, and technical analysis position for a membership association.
• The ability to communicate complex technical ideas and information to a range of audiences.
