Our client is looking for a Harbour Master to join the Senior Management Team responsible for the direction, control and co-ordination of a safe and efficient service within the port, ensuring that all statutory provisions relating to port marine operations are met fully and cost-effective, and ensuring the safety of navigation whilst optimising the service provided to customers and other users of the Port.
This is an extremely broad role working from their newly refurbished Head Office in Kent as well their Central London office in London
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of, national and international legislation and procedures affecting port operations. They will have experience of formal risk assessment processes and familiarity with port safety management systems. Applicants will need to demonstrate that they can lead, motivate and effectively manage resources with proven and effective interpersonal skills. Excellent communications skills in all media and an ability to work effectively under pressure are essential to the role.

Whilst the core skills our client is looking for is within operations as they are a small team with plans to grow this person will have exposure to several other areas. Our client is very entrepreneurial and would be looking to hire someone with a similar mindset whereby they understand if the company is buying or selling ships and will be versatile to understand the nature of their role may change dependant on what the objectives of the company are at a given time.
From an operations perspective you will be handling the day-to-day operations for predominately Kamsarmax and Panamax vessels, ensuring operations run to an exceptional standard covering everything within commercial operations from A-Z. You will need to be a confident communicator and excel at building relationships with others and be comfortable working in a tightly knit team.
Our client is hoping of taking someone on for the long term that can take on leadership responsibility in the coming years as the company grows as well as inputting ideas on the investment side.

We seek a Logistics Manager in Florida for an ocean transportation and logistics company.
For this growing company you will be responsible for managing the documentation and logistics activities.
This role is customer facing, ensuring there are no challenges faced with the import or export of the shipments being handled.
You will provide outstanding customer service, adhering to agreed rate, ensuring all documentation is correct. You will ensure update are provided on shipments at all times and ensure a smooth import or export process through customs, liaising with the customs department of the country of destination.
Therefore, to succeed in this role you will have a background in logistics, ideally with ocean going cargo, but air cargo experience can also be considered.
You will ideally understand the nuances of the target market which is the Caribbean.

We are currently partnered with one of the world’s leading ship owners in the container market and they are currently looking to bring an experienced Commercial Manager into their European ranks. This would play a key role in their growth and business development in the European market and it will be crucial that you are fluent in French and German in order to deal with the major accounts in the region.
For this hire you will need to have a good grasp of charter partys and a track record in business development with a strong ‘growth mindset.’ It will also be important that you are familiar with the container market and will be ideal for someone with chartering/ S&P exposure in the container space.
Ideally this role will be based in Hamburg but our client is flexible and is very focused on hiring the right individual so if unable to be based in Germany they have a degree of flexibility in terms of where they can base this hire.

A major player in the dry bulk industry is looking for a Bunker Manager to join their team in Dubai. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a crucial part of a renowned global Operator developing a portfolio of suppliers that can reliably provide for the fleet of over 100 vessels working as part of a small Bunkering team.
Reporting to the Head of Bunkers you will need to be experienced in handling high volumes and managing risk whilst focusing on the physical purchasing of bunkers. The remainder of your time will be spent on futures trading (hedging) and feeding in market information to the trading desk in the Head Office.

This position is working with Jack-Up Barges and is 6 weeks on, 6 weeks off.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Organising daily operations of the vessels
• Review all documents, risk assessments, task plans, etc.
• Ensure maintenance of all equipment
• Maintain good safety standards on board
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors
Suitable candidates should have:
• A good level of offshore experience as a Chief Mater or Master Mariner onboard Jack-Up Barges
• All standard offshore certifications (Huet/Bosiet, H2S, etc.)
Candidates should be able to speak English fluently.
