Marine Engineer, Wharf Redesign (12 week contract)
We are looking for a Marine Engineer with previous experience of wharf design to work on a project for a leading consultancy company. For a twelve-week contract, you will redesign an existing wharf to enable its use for transportation. You will need to be able to commute to London although where possible you will be able to work from home. Senior Dry Cargo Charterer, Denmark

Spinnaker is currently working with a growing global ship operator who are looking to recruit a senior Dry Cargo Charterer to be based in Denmark.

Ideally, the right candidate will have contacts on the tonnage and the cargo side ideally based in the Danish market. A crucial part of this role will be the right candidate can demonstrate a good track record running a profitable cargo book. Also, someone who has a supramax background with experience in the ECSA and/or USG market would be preferable.

To be successful for this role you will need to have a proven track record of working within an operator role as you will be joining a relatively new set up, they are looking for someone who can take responsibility for their role and someone who can hit the ground running and ideally have 8-10 years’ experience.

Technical and Compliance Officer, London

A successful London based Maritime Authority is seeking a Technical & Compliance Officer to join the small team of professionals in the Inspections and Surveys Department.

This is an office-based role providing technical support and advice to owners, managers and recognised organisations. You will be overseeing the response and management of Port State Control inspections, and the operation of the Ship registry’s inspection programme.

This role is suitable for a Chief Engineer or Master Mariner.
Audit experience would be advantageous.

A logical thinking, safety orientated person is required who must have a wide knowledge of the International Maritime Conventions and Codes. You must have excellent communication skills and be decisive and proactive in your approach.

All candidates must have EU working entitlement.

Crewing Officer, Essex

We are currently seeking a maritime professional, ideally with previous crewing experience for an exciting Crewing Officer role with a crew management services company based in Essex.

Within this role, you will report into the Managing Director and Fleet Director and be responsible for the daily crewing operations of a fleet of vessels owned by first-class ship owners. The fleet consists of modern passenger, bulk, container and general cargo vessels.

Other duties will include maintaining accurate records, verifying crew certificates, processing of ship accounts and crew wages.

You will also keep up-to-date with maritime and flag state legislation.

To be suitable for this role you will ideally have some crewing experience however, we can also consider deck officers who are looking to step ashore.

Experience with passenger vessels is advantageous.

UK working entitlement essential.

Accountant, Dubai

Spinnaker has partnered with an international ship owner/management provider, seeking a qualified Accountant to join them in their Dubai office.

This full time, permanent position will see you posting, verifying and reconciling accounts payable and receivable. You will utilise your experience of generating invoices and statement of accounts, processing bank payments and preparing the weekly cash movement summary.

A successful candidate will have excellent Microsoft Office skills and strong experience of accounting software packages, specifically knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics AX system would be incredibly advantageous.

Candidates will have at least 4 years of accounting experience and ideally, come from the shipping or similar industry. Professionals who have previous experience in the bunker business will be at a distinct advantage.

Excellent English languages skills are essential for this position.

Dry Operator, Singapore

One of the world leaders in the dry bulk market is currently looking for an experienced Operations professional to join their department in Singapore.

This role would suit a person with dry bulk operations experience (capesize or panamax vessels experience preferred but not essential).
The ideal candidate will come from an established dry bulk company and will be able to demonstrate a track record of success over at least two years.

The role will have a focus on smooth operating of the companies owned and operated vessels by performing hire/bunker/port payments, provide master/agents with instructions, invoice customers, carry out laytime calculations, keep track on vessel positions, deal with issues arising during the voyage, arrange stow plans etc.

The ideal candidate should speak mandarin and have recent work experience gained in Singapore.
