The ideal candidate will be UK qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 PQE (no maximum) in the marine market. The successful candidate will manage the Greek office with the assistance of an associate in Greece and the partners in the London practice.

The practice is very busy advising ship owners and P&I clubs, with a focus on dry shipping matters plus some admiralty work.

Claims Executive - UAE

Marine Insurance broker seeks Claims Executive in Sharjah, UAE (35km from Dubai).

The role involves managing P&I, general average and H&M claims from beginning to end. A key part of the role is to keep in constant communication with your ship owners and insurers, meeting in person to build relationships and progress the claim through to completion.

The ideal candidate will have around 5 years marine claims experience at either a marine insurance broker, ship agency or P&I club plus relevant insurance qualification CII / ACA and ideally working towards ACII.

Marine Fixed Premium P&I Underwriter - London

Reporting into the Chief Underwriting Officer, this new role aims to help with the growing team. The main objective is to provide full technical underwriting in respect of retention of business and the generation of new business, plus working to manage relationships with clients and brokers in order to offer highest possible level of service.

Our client, an international shipping company is seeking a Claims Manager.

This is a new role and would suit a Claims Manager with 5-15 years marine claims experience from either inhouse or P&I club.

This person must have excellent negotiation skills to manage marine disputes from beginning to settlement, such as laytime, offhire, bunker claims or damage to vessels for time chartered fleet of vessels. We are currently working with a long-standing dry bulk ship-owning company, with a fleet of 13 vessels, who are looking to hire an AVP (Commercial) for their office in Hong Kong.
 
They are looking for someone to be a central point in the Commercial Department to be responsible for all operations within the company. Your role will include:

  • Ensuring the company’s fleet of ships is efficiently managed
  • Issuing and checking all voyage instructions
  • Appoint port agents and check disbursement estimates and invoices
  • Coordinate bunker management
  • Review CP clauses and recommend changes taking into account past experience and industry developments
  • Overseeing the chartering function and being responsible for the execution of the chartering strategy
