Bunker Trader – Houston

  • Establish and build relationships with new and existing suppliers to increase strike rate and margin on business within the region.
  • Openly communicate with other traders internally to maximise the efficient flow of market and customer intelligence throughout the company.
  • Understand, analyse and interpret market conditions, identify counterparty needs, provide product and price information, negotiate deals and handle general customer queries relating to the sales process.
  • Follow market fundamentals as well as local cargo index movements/variances to identify opportunities to establish competitive advantage.
  • Work with the Regional Head and Book Management functions to develop and implement effective short and long-term trading strategies, ensuring they are regularly updated and accurately maintained.
  • Participate in both internal and external marketing activities when required.

Operations Manager – Hamburg or Bavaria

You will be joining an established and experienced commercial team and take responsibility for the operational management of part of the fleet. MINSHIP’s current fleet consists of 11 handy size bulk carriers on the water plus 3 to be delivered within 2024, as well as 3 MPP’s. Other fleet management disciplines are in-house as well.
 Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in the day-to-day operations of the ships including but not limited to voyage planning, inspections, cargo operations, agency appointments, daily reporting, bunkering, laytime calculations, voyage performance monitoring, ship – shore / shore – ship communication etc.
  • Maintaining standards and environmental procedures
  • Involvement in the analysis and monitoring of operational data for pro-active measures to be taken
  • Implement procedures to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in the dry bulk sector as Operations Manager
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills to analyze operational data
  • Fluent English and excellent communication as well as strong negotiating skills, German language knowledge is of advantage
  • Willingness to travel
  • Teamwork

Voyage Manager

To be the first point of contact for the ship for all matters related to voyage operations.
b) To be the first point of contact with the charterer for all issues regarding voyage
operations.
c) To keep records of all matters related to the voyage operations and performance.
d) To monitor the vessel passage plan and Noon Reports to ensure that the voyage orders are
being complied with.
e) To Ensure that all Noon reports and reports submitted to charterer are accurate.
f) For each voyage to calculate and monitor that the TCP Fuel Consumption Warranty
requirements are met and to investigated if not met.
g) To keep records of all calculations for TCP Fuel Consumption Warranty calculations and to
assist NETA in negotiations with the charterers to close out any claims.
h) To monitor the use of GCU and Steam dumping to ensure that the vessels are being
operated in the most efficient manner.
i) To keep all records regarding the use of GCU use or Steam dumping and to analyse these
records for any trends.

Freight Trader – Singapore

  • Work with other team members based in Switzerland and India and ensure they have accurate and timely information
  • Continuously evaluate the market conditions and sharing findings and recommendations with the rest of the team
  • Evaluate vessels and price voyage freight
  • Negotiate freight contracts
  • Maintain a good communication with the Oceana bulk internal network (e.g. other offices and departments).
  • Maintain existing and develop new relationships with clients, brokers, agents, owners and charterers.
  • Closely follow the performance of voyages and work closely with the Operations Department based in Switzerland and India
  • Check & report positions, P&L checks
  • Other duties as assigned.
