Vessel Operator – Athens

Spinnaker is working with an internationally recognised Owner/Operator of a fleet of Dry Bulk Carriers.

Due to expansion, an opportunity has become available for a dry bulk operator to join their team in Greece. 

Some of the responsibilities for this role are: 
Ensuring the vessel’s voyage is performed efficiently and ensuring costs are kept to a minimum.
Calculating and preparing hire statements
Arrange and manage any advance payments from charterers and final settlements when the voyage is complete.
Be in charge of a vessel or fleet of vessels and be involved with tasks such as post fixture, bunker intakes and agency appointments.
Liaising with insurers and P&I

The Qualifications required for this role are: 
At least 2 years’ experience in the Operations department.
Very good knowledge of the English language.
Computer literate.

Operations Manager – Athens

Due to expansion, an opportunity has become available for an Operations Manager to join an Owner/Operator of a fleet of Dry Bulk Carriers in Athens, Greece. 

You will ideally have at least 5 years’ experience in operations working with dry bulk vessels. Candidates with previous sailing experience and/or shore based commercial operations experience can both be considered for this role. You will be working with a fleet of Dry Bulk Handy & Supramax vessels. 

They are looking for someone with a positive disposition, eager to progress and learn also willing to adapt to their methods and vision to that of the company. Strong leadership and team management skills required with previous managerial experience.

Fleet Operations Officer – London

Our client is a privately-owned ship management group in the heart of London operating within the dry bulk market. Our client is currently managing a fleet 17 bulkers with plans to increase this to 25 in the coming months.

Since beginning their operations in 2012, they have been focused on recruiting and training cadets and seafarers and supporting their development. The ideal candidate will be an ex or current 2nd officer with multiple years’ experience on bulk ships. Shore experience is an advantage for this role. This role could also be suited to someone who has not sailed and only has pure shore based operations experience.

Commercial Vessel Operator- Tanker- London

We are currently working with a growing ship owner/ operator with a fleet of circa 75 ships that have a combination of both tankers and bulkers. Our client is currently looking to expand their operations team with the hire of a Commercial Operator preferably with chemical tanker experience to take responsibility for operating circa 8-10 vessels at any one time.

Whilst chemical experience would be a plus this presents a unique opportunity to be commercially responsible for both bulk and tanker assets. They have a very diverse fleet with chem carriers, MRs, Afras, LPG carriers, bulk carriers and unlike competitors they encourage their Operators to handle a mix of vessel types so for an experienced Operator that is looking to diversify the assets they are responsible for this would be a great opportunity.

This role would be ideally suited to Operators that are able to handle circa 8-10 vessels independently so this will likely be Operators with 3+ years of experience gained in either bulk or tanker operations.

Dry Shipping Analyst – London

We are currently partnered with one of the world’s largest steel manufacturers assisting with a hire for a Dry Shipping Analyst. Our client has a large shipping team based in London and are looking to bolster their research/ analysis division that supports their commercial team. 

We are looking for a candidate who can look at the macro/ micro economic situation around the world and analyse the bulk market with short, medium, and long-term forecasts. This will involve giving regular presentations to the team to help in making strategic chartering decisions. This would suit someone adept at assessing world economic reports as well as reports/ data linked to the dry shipping markets in order to formulate commercial argument.

Operations Manager (Bulk) – London

We are currently working with an international ship owner that is looking to bring in a Operations Manager with bulk experience into their London office.

This role will be ideal for someone that has a combination of seafaring and strong shorebased commercial operations with bulk carriers. Candidate will need to have a strong grasp of vessel designs, cargo types, voyage planning, stowage plans and key port requirements.

Operations Analyst – Limassol

We are currently working with a leading investment management company, with over $1billion in assets under management. They are looking for an Operations Analyst to join their Operations and Marine Team in Limassol.

In this role, you will work on the operational side of S&P transactions, as managing the delivery of the vessels, handling delivery notices and ship registration etc. This hire will also take responsibility for commercially operating their vessels handling TC/ Spot operations and managing speed/ consumption performance claims.

It will also be useful that you have some experience in preparing reports for investors when required so some analytical/ reporting exposure would also be advantageous.

Our client is looking for an individual with 5 years’ experience of shore-based operations and S&P experience would be advantageous.

Having a quantitative degree and/or masters is advantageous.

In this role you will:
– Build and maintain shipping and commodities prices within internal data infrastructure

– Support the build of fundamental shipping supply and demand models
– Develop analytics of support risk management of multi-asset portfolio
– Model the back testing of new trade and hedging strategies
