Are you a seasoned Marine Engineer looking to transition your extensive sea-going experience into a dynamic shore-based role? Our prestigious maritime insurance client is looking to hire a highly skilled Loss Prevention Executive to join their global team!

Role Overview
This pivotal position leverages your deep maritime engineering expertise to support critical insurance operations, focusing on vessel safety, technical assessments, and emerging maritime sustainability challenges.
  
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical advice on marine engineering and shipboard machinery
  • Monitor and analyze maritime regulations, particularly around alternative fuels and greenhouse gas emissions
  • Conduct vessel condition surveys and risk assessments
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations and training materials
  • Evaluate potential insurance risks through comprehensive marine engineering insights

Ideal Candidate Profile
  
Essential Requirements

  • Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (STCW iii/2)
  • Minimum 4 years senior experience on ocean-going vessels
  • Extensive knowledge of maritime regulations and industry standards
  • Exceptional technical presentation and written communication skills
  • Must have full UK working entitlement (Right to Work in the UK)
  • No relocation allowance will be provided

Preferred Experience

  • Operational experience with Slow and medium speed engines
  • Diesel-electric propulsion, Dual-fuel engines (LNG, Methanol)
  • Minimum 2 years shore-based experience (Classification Society, vessel operator, technical management)
  • Professional registration (e.g., IMarEST Chartered Engineer)
