Manager, Fleet Digitalization & Systems- Singapore

We are currently partnered with a major international shipping line who are in the process of hiring their next Senior Manager for their Fleet Digitalization & Systems. This will be an instrumental position within the tech side of their business ideally suited to someone that has a passion for overseeing technology driven initiatives within the maritime industry.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Evaluating and implementing new technologies relevant to vessel performance such as IoT systems, predictive maintenance, and remote monitoring systems. Oversee the entire deployment process from conceptualization to execution.
- Work closely with the PMS Manager and IT team to ensure existing systems (e.g. planned maintenance system, vessel reporting) are reliable, up-to-date, and able to meet business needs. Identify, evaluate and implement upgrades to drive performance improvement.
- Establish robust data collection mechanisms to gather insights into vessel performance, fuel consumption, maintenance needs, and environmental impact. Utilize data-driven insights to optimize vessel performance, improve fuel efficiency, and reduce emissions.
- Manage technology providers, negotiate contracts, evaluate vendor performance, and ensure that the selected solutions meet the organization’s needs and provide a strong ROI.
- Ensure that all technology implementations comply with maritime regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations to ensure that PIL remains at the forefront of maritime technology.
- Lead and provide guidance to team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Requirement:
To apply for this position you would need 10+ years’ experience working within the tech side of the maritime industry preferably gained within a liner/ shipmanagement setup. A good level of understanding of maritime operations, vessel systems, regulatory requirements, vessel digitalization would be required. Experienced using Bassnet or similar would also be highly desirable.
