Marine Operations Superintendent – Middle East

We are seeking a Marine Operations Superintendent to join our client based in the Middle East. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the vessels, while meeting all regulatory, company, and customer requirements. The role involves managing cargo operations, ensuring compliance with international and flag state regulations, and overseeing audits, inspections, and safety management systems. The candidate will drive compliance with industry standards, manage vessel vetting processes, and ensure all necessary trading certifications are maintained. Additionally, the superintendent will lead incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, and supervise emergency response actions, while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure smooth vessel operations.

The successful candidate will also oversee voyage planning, terminal approvals, and vessel performance to avoid performance-related claims. They will work closely with fleet operations, marine personnel management, and ship staff to ensure effective communication and operational excellence. The role also involves team performance management, recruitment assistance, and participation in industry meetings to safeguard the company’s reputation and minimize environmental risks. This position is key to ensuring continuous improvement in marine operations and maintaining the highest standards in quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  
You will have a degree in Nautical Science or a related field, holding a Master Mariner Certificate of Competence. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 12 years of experience, including at least 3 years as Master on LNG/LPG or crude/oil carriers, and a minimum of 2 years in a head office management position within a large gas or oil shipping company.

Experience working with diverse cultures, including ship owners and crew, is essential for this role. The candidate will bring a strong background in marine operations, leadership, and compliance with industry standards.
